Teachers in Bunyangabu District have been urged to approach their profession with a strong sense of purpose, recognizing their critical role in shaping the nation’s future.
Speaking at a primary teachers’ meeting held at Yerya Bakaiso Hall in Kibiito Town Council, and another at Rwimi town council at the headquarters, Ndi Megga Nalutaaya of Soar Away Africa emphasized that teachers are central to national development, describing them as “the true mothers and makers of the nation.”
The meeting was organized by the Bunyangabu District Primary Schools Headteachers Association in collaboration with the district education department.
Nalutaaya encouraged educators to remain committed to their mission, noting that they are “holders of hope for the next generation.” She reminded teachers that their influence extends beyond the classroom and into the future of the country.
“Teachers have the mandate to choose the future Uganda will have,” she said, adding that while they may not be able to reach every child, their efforts can still make a significant difference. “You might not save all the fish, but you can save what you can in order to raise the next generation.”
The meeting brought together primary school teachers from across Bunyangabu District to discuss education strategies and their role in nurturing responsible citizens.
