Bunyangabu Residents Urged to Respect Police job

Residents of Bunyangabu District have been urged to respect police officers and avoid confrontations, especially during law enforcement operations.

The call was made by the District Police Commander (DPC) of Bunyangabu, Superintendent of Police (SP) Ndawula David Wills.

In an exclusive interview with our reporter at his office in Kibiito Town Council, SP Ndaula was responding to a recent incident in Rubona Town Council, where a 26-year-old man, Kihiza Roy, was shot dead by a police officer.

According to SP Ndaula, Kihiza Roy, a resident of Butukuru Cell in West Ward, Rubona Town Council, had been reported to police and an officer was dispatched to arrest him, during which the fatal shooting occurred.

SP Ndaula further cautioned civilians to take responsibility for their actions and urged them to cooperate with law enforcement.

He emphasized that police officers also have a duty to protect themselves when situations escalate dangerously.
