Residents of Kabonero Sub-county and neighboring areas have threatened to stage a protest over the poor construction of the Kabonero road.
According to district councilors representing Kabonero Sub-county, along with other local leaders, the demonstration is scheduled to take place on either 10th or 11th, April 2025, immediately after the next rainfall.
Musiime Charles, the male district councilor for Kabonero Sub-county, revealed that during the road work’s launch, the District Engineer, the Resident District Commissioner, and the Chief Administrative Officer presented a sample of marrum that appeared to be of good quality.
However, he expressed disappointment that the material actually used in the road construction was completely different from the sample shown to them.
Speaking to our reporter, Musiime condemned the substandard work, calling it a misuse of taxpayers’ money.
Meanwhile, a section of boda boda riders expressed their readiness to support Musiime and participate in the demonstration until the road is properly repaired.
